The President’s duties include to:
See that all orders and resolutions of the Directors are carried into effect and shall have the necessary authority for this purpose;
Submit an annual action plan for the year for Board approval within two months of being appointed to taking office. This shall include an events plan for the year, as well as a fundraising, communications, technology, and membership action plans, and the operating budget.
Work with the treasurer to prepare the budget for the year and submit it with the action plan for the year.
Submit a bimonthly communication to the Board with a summary of NEACOL activities, financial results and any concerns. This report should be submitted by the 10th of the following month. For the guidelines of the reports please refer to the “NEACOL Report Template.”
Insure that a record is kept for the purpose of all votes and proceedings at any meeting;
Execute NEACOL’s strategic action plan as approved by the Board and submit any needed changes for Board approval.
Execute a signature with the bank that holds the account for the organization;
Appear on behalf of the organization at any public function;
Register the organization annually with the secretary of State of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts;
Contract services and authorize expenditures as presented in the annual budget approved by the Board and obtain specific approval of any changes to the budget above $500.00 (not to exceed $2,000.00 in aggregate).
Serve as the Clerk for the purpose of service of process as required by law, unless the organization has a resident agent appointed.
Meet regularly with the Executive Team and Committee Chairs and together with the Secretary report on progress, results, financials, as well as any issues/concerns to the Board on a monthly basis.
Maintain volunteer engagement and morale, as well as an appropriate volunteer base
Assist in the preparation of the Annual Report following the end of the fiscal year.
Ensure the officers of the Executive Team and Committee Chairs are performing their duties as agreed or secure a replacement with assistance of the Board.
Cultivate, promote, and attract foundations in Colombia to submit their projects to NEACOL.
Execute a signature with the bank that holds the account for the organization.
